THE CIRCULATORS Insufficient Fun LP (Total Punk)

A Total Punk jammer that is definitely totally punk, this is some expertly thrown-together twin guitar riff rockin’ with a throttle that floors it to real good timesville, the kind of thing that only works if you either finetune it to death, or just have the goods. There’s a Saints/Birdman/Victims thing happening here but also a Marked Men level of getting it right/tight, a bunch of young guys who enter the conversation by bustin’ down the door. Great insult songs, bunch of party jams, room-leveling energy, and an excellent pair of poppier numbers at the end of side A (one with an acoustic!) that give off that good Buzzcocks vibe. There’s no use being critical about anything here; it’s a product, it’s well made, they basically get everything right. Some kid’s gonna hear this and lose their shit and the cycle continues. Some adult who has records like this is gonna be reminded why.
