Heathen Disco Music Reviews #0074 (March 7, 2025)
Approachable rapprochements: Heavy Möther II, Kinski, Eraser, Yuasa-Exide, I'm Being Good
(nature boi, admired, borrowed from images captured by Maggie Vail — thanks in advance)
This’ll be a members-only jam for the most part, which has to happen sometime, just to appease those who find a way to show me the value this writing brings ‘em. Could it be YOOOOOU?
There used to be a suspension bridge near my apartment in the old neighborhood. A new feature in an equally-new public park, Brooklynites and visitors got to enjoy its wobble for part of a year before the powers that be deemed it too exciting for everyone to safely cross against their own expectations / limb power. No matter where you stand today, you kinda know those powers are long gone; safety isn’t a given, you might get tossed and never found. The five records covered this week speak to that sort of kineticism, be it stoned, surging, or set in its ways. I’m here to narrate the experience of each, and I hope that sits well with you all, esp. the Philadelphia contingent.
