More than this after the jump:

TOM CARTER AND PAT MURANO Songs of Eliphas Levi Zahed LP (Daksina)

Spiritually smoked pairing of guitar-ands by two notable mages, but no reason to fluff it: “The Will” is one seriously heavy side. Cyclic interference buzzes its harsh light into barely-there strands of slide/slack guitar, edges of the envelope tightly sealed, as the piece drifts from quiet unknowns to an oppressively heavy downer, soaring way up above to dance with the UFOs, like a Vietnam Vet retelling of the Dead C. The great secret, indeed, and a surprise every time you light it up. B-sides “The Imagination” explore a more conquered take on this sound, and “Astral Light” is the peaceful melodic drone that balances between the two. Rarely do I sit with a guitar piece and have it press down on my soul as hard as “The Will” does, so I’d suggest you grab any of the 100 copies of this and see what you are when you pass through it.
